After finishing college and doing an internship in the government energy sector, Alan received a Controller position within two months of starting an accounting position with a travel and lodging company. He then took financial executive positions with Sinclair Oil and later with Siemens Health Services. Most recently he has worked in the non-profit sector leading an organization from a large deficit to substantial reserves. Alan has a rich mix of process improvement and cross functional team leadership talents as he has led the Human Resource departments and IT departments in his tenure as a Controller and CFO. He delves into the details to increase the bottom-line and is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and add value to the organization through continuously evaluating and recommending process improvements that streamline operations and lead to significant cost reductions and increased revenue.
Alan obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Utah and his MBA with an emphasis in accounting and technology from Westminster College. While there, he was inducted into Delta Mu Delta for his outstanding graduate work. Alan enjoys cycling and mountain biking and hiking and you will always find him out on the trails early in the mornings or late evenings.
